Ryan's beautiful journey began when we found out that I was pregnant in July 2006. My husband and I were so excited, and our families as well. We couldn't wait to see our pride and joy in 9 months. This was the start of so many plans and dreams for Ryan. Mommy just knew it was going to be a boy. We found out for sure that he was a boy on October 31st 2006, from the amnio results. We were so ecstatic that we can talk to him by his name, start plans for his room, and start shopping for little boy things. Our families couldn't wait to start shopping for Ryan too. Ryan was so special in so many ways. He was going to be the second grandchild on his mommy's side in 19 years and third in 17 years on his daddy's side. Ryan was a dream come true, and Ryan was good to me. I had an uncomplicated pregnancy, I enjoyed and loved every minute being pregnant with Ryan.

We had our first doctor appointment August 10th and everything went well, with more appointments and lots of bloodwork. This trimester is when the morning sickness lasted all day. As weeks went by is when I found out Ryan's likes and dislikes. He liked bacon and eggs but only when daddy made them, he loved tacos that we made, dark green lettuce, and enjoyed lots and lots of ice cream. Ryan didn't like yogurt or iceberg lettuce the most.

Is when we had the amnio done, due to mommy's age. At 35 you are considered high risk. I had to have the amnio done three times. the first time I had it done they couldn't get the needle thru the placenta, and they tried again and still couldn't get thru and they didn't have a long enough needle. So I had to set up another appointment with a specialist who had longer needles. That day came and the doctor had no problems, he even commented how well Ryan stayed away from the needle. I still had a lot of morning sickness all day. On October 31st mommy received the call from the specialists office that he was a boy, and my test results were fine. So you could say we were overjoyed and excited. Ryan's heart beat was always strong.

Mommy and baby are doing well, morning sickness is gone and Ryan is very active. More doctor visits as each month grows closer, Ryan's heart beat was always strong. we went to the hospital at 32 weeks to pre-register and have a tour of the maternity floor, and meet with the anesthesiologist. We were very pleased with our visit, I still remember they had a full house. February 17, 2007 was Ryan's baby shower where we received so many things, you could say we were covered from A to Z. Ryan received so many clothes. I had to change doctors at 36 weeks, because my doctor doesn't deliver anymore. So I went on March 5th for my first visit at this new office, and I was very nervous, so of course my blood pressure went up a little higher then the doctor wanted it to. So she made me have my blood pressure checked again, and it still was high, so she sent me to the hospital right away for a non-stress test. When I got to the hospital they did the normal urine and blood work, and hooked me up to a blood pressure machine and a doppler to keep check on Ryan. When the nurse at the hospital checked my blood pressure it was fine. After a couple of hours the doctor checked the results and gave mommy and Ryan the all clear and sent us home. But I had to return in 2 to 3 days for another N.S.T. So we went March 8th and mommy and baby were fine. We continued with our once a week doctor appointments. March 27th was our last appointment, and Ryan's heart beat was strong, and he was still moving. March 28th was Ryan's due date, but he didn't come. I had a doctor appt. set up for April 2nd where the doctor was going to set me up for N.S.T. for the next two weeks until Ryan came.

I went into labor Sunday April 1st 2007. We called the doctors office and the answering service had the hospital call us back, they called back in a few minutes. My contractions were 5 minutes apart and very strong. The nurse told me that I was fine and I could come in now or wait a bit. So we got our stuff together and went to the hospital. As soon as we got to the hospital they took us right into the labor room. The nurse started prepping me, and she was using the doppler to find Ryan's heart beat, she couldn't find it right away, but we didn't panic because Ryan would always hide, after a few minutes of the nurse trying, which seemed like hours, the doctor came and asked the nurse for his heart rate. She told the doctor she was having a hard time finding it, the doctor said ok she will get the ultra sound and after the doctor started using the ultra sound, she looked at us and started to tear up and said "I'm so sorry I'm so sorry".
